Today, as we observe Truth and Reconciliation Day, we are called to pause, reflect, and acknowledge the historical injustices faced by Indigenous communities.

This day is about more than remembering the past, it’s about listening, learning, educating ourselves, and taking meaningful steps toward reconciliation.

At kb&co, this day holds a special significance for us. Our Founder, Kristina, and our Sherwood Park Franchisee, Kaylyn, proudly embrace their Indigenous roots.

Indigenous women have long played an important role in preserving traditions, stories, languages, and culture, often in the face of tremendous adversity. Their strength, resilience, and wisdom continue to shape and inspire generations.

Today, we honour those who came before us while looking toward the work that still lies ahead. We can each play a role by amplifying Indigenous voices, continuing to learn, and approaching reconciliation with genuine respect and understanding.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey. It means listening more, learning always, and working together toward a future where every Indigenous child can grow up knowing their heritage is valued, respected, and celebrated.
