One of the best roadside stops in the small town of Townsend, Tennessee is Burger Master Drive-In, a longtime favorite for both locals and visitors to the Smoky Mountains. Right along Highway 73, this classic walk-up spot is known for hot, fresh burgers, crispy seasoned fries, chili cheese fries, and thick milkshakes made when you order. There’s plenty of shaded outdoor seating where you can relax and enjoy views of the mountains while you eat. Service is quick and friendly, prices are fair, and portions are filling. Don’t skip the soft-serve ice cream or sundaes. If you’re headed to Cades Cove or stopping at the Heritage Center across the road, this is an easy and tasty stop worth making.
