We are at Mille, I am about to go home, and this is the weekend special from Dinner for Two. The rest is all in the video. It’s an amazing dessert and if I did not have to wake up early tomorrow, I would run there, start the evening with a cocktail and finish it with this dessert! Enjoy!!

We’ve done lemons, raspberries, and now it’s time for apricots. When Kolina brought those out of the production room, the jaws started to drop, literally. Chocolate shell, apricot/vanilla mousse, and apricot compote, all that resting on a chocolate cake. These pastries are viral, and for a good reason: they are incredible! Available in our dessert case from Friday until Sunday this week. Enjoy!

“It’s not just you have fifteen minutes to eat a piece of pizza,” Mille owner Marcel Remillieux says of school lunch in France, lovingly recalling the hour and a half lunches that he learned to treasure from school age through university. Remillieux has brought this ethos to his Santa Fe bakery and café, where guests are invited to linger over fully realized dishes of duck confit, Nicoise salad, and fresh mussels, paired, if going for a true French lunch, with a glass—or bottle—of refreshing white wine.

We are very grateful to for writing this article and publishing all these beautiful pictures of lunch at Mille in the July/August issue of their magazine. With the rainy weather, these sailor-style mussels are just calling my name.
