๐ Today we're celebrating 5 years at our Johnson Street home! ๐๐ฎ๐น
Pranzo's story in Santa Fe goes back to the late 1980s, including many memorable years at the Sanbusco Market Center.
Chef and owner Steven Lemon first joined Pranzo as executive chef in 1989. He returned in 2013 and purchased the restaurant in 2014, helping carry the Pranzo tradition into its next chapter.
After the Sanbusco location closed in 2018, Steven purchased the historic 1930 adobe building at 321 Johnson Street, formerly home to the beloved Shohko restaurant. Following an extensive renovation, Pranzo reopened its doors here on August 15, 2021.
And Pranzo didn't return alone. Many members of our longtime kitchen staff came back too, including people who had already been part of the Pranzo family for 11 to 31 years.
The vision for Johnson Street was a smaller, more relaxed and locally focused Pranzo, while keeping the classic dishes, familiar faces, and hospitality our guests have loved for decades.
Five years later, that's still who we are: homestyle Italian food, casual dining, local vibes, and warm New Mexican hospitality.
We love Santa Fe, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of the Pranzo story.
Happy 5th Anniversary, Johnson Street! Here's to many more. โค๏ธ๐ฅ
