💥 This Wednesday, August 5, we're unveiling our new mural at Marrow in the Market and throwing a celebration out on the patio.
We collaborated with Tony Whlgn, an artist and designer from Detroit's Eastside, to create a lasting tribute to Eastern Market.
The mural honors Mose Primus Sr., the first known Black butcher at Eastern Market's Gratiot Central Market. Surrounded by the animals of the trade, the mural pays tribute to the butchery that has long been at the heart of what we do, and to the people whose work helped shape the market's history.
Happy hour runs 6 to 9 with a focused bar and walking tacos on the patio, all in conjunction with First Wednesdays. Pork pastilla over corn chips with charred corn queso, pickled Fresno, lime pickled cabbage and crispy chicharron, or the veggie version with roasted carrots and mushrooms, tomatillo salsa and chili seasoned cashews. The whole district stays open late for live music, drinks, art, and neighbors out on Riopelle. And yeah, it's First Wednesdays so the whole block is going to turn up.
Swipe back to see Tony putting up the first outlines during , before we opened.
Come by for the reveal, meet Tony Whlgn in person, and stay for the block.
