Don’t let the name fool you, we love a vegetable around here.

Cabbage seared hard until the outer leaves char and the layers underneath turn sweet and tender. It sits on farro verde tossed with spring pesto, nutty and chewy and green. Dried seasonal fruit for pockets of concentrated sweetness, peperonata for soft stewed peppers and a vinegar bite that cuts against all of it.

On the dinner menu now.

See you soon, Detroit.

💥 New desserts on the dinner menu at Marrow in the Market, all housemade by Pastry Chef Ashley. Starting with this one.

Strawberry Shortcake Puff >> strawberry shortcake ice cream, lemon curd, strawberry lemon streusel

Lemon shows up twice here, in the curd and again in the streusel, and it keeps the strawberry from tipping too sweet. Cold and tart with a crunch running all the way through.

Save room. Every dessert on the menu is made here in Eastern Market, start to finish.

💥 Two specials on tonight and through the weekend, or until they run out, whichever comes first.

Carbonara, but make it Marrrow-style. Cavatelli swimming in a house made rosemary pepper parm broth with guanciale, crispy shallots, and red sorrel. There's a hot sauce yolk sitting on top waiting for you to break it.

Fried green tomatoes with roasted giallo, parm, and salsa verde. Cherry chow chow brings the vinegar, crispy coppa brings the crunch.

Get down here and get into it, y'all. Book a table at the link in our bio, or just walk on in and we'll find the perfect spot for you!

First Wednesdays is back tomorrow, August 5, and the whole district stays open late from 6 to 9.

We'll be set up out on the patio with a focused bar and Marrow's Walking Tacos. Pork pastilla over corn chips with charred corn queso, pickled Fresno, lime pickled cabbage and crispy chicharron, or the veggie version with roasted carrots and mushrooms, tomatillo salsa and chili seasoned cashews.

It's also the night we officially unveil our new mural. Tony Whlgn's tribute to Mose Primus Sr., the first known Black butcher at Eastern Market's Gratiot Central Market, surrounded by the animals of the trade. Tony will be here, so come by for the reveal and say hello.

DJ Jenny La Femme is on Riopelle and Winder, and the rest of the market is open for shopping, food, drinks, and vintage all night.

See you tomorrow!

💥 This Wednesday, August 5, we're unveiling our new mural at Marrow in the Market and throwing a celebration out on the patio.

We collaborated with Tony Whlgn, an artist and designer from Detroit's Eastside, to create a lasting tribute to Eastern Market.

The mural honors Mose Primus Sr., the first known Black butcher at Eastern Market's Gratiot Central Market. Surrounded by the animals of the trade, the mural pays tribute to the butchery that has long been at the heart of what we do, and to the people whose work helped shape the market's history.

Happy hour runs 6 to 9 with a focused bar and walking tacos on the patio, all in conjunction with First Wednesdays. Pork pastilla over corn chips with charred corn queso, pickled Fresno, lime pickled cabbage and crispy chicharron, or the veggie version with roasted carrots and mushrooms, tomatillo salsa and chili seasoned cashews. The whole district stays open late for live music, drinks, art, and neighbors out on Riopelle. And yeah, it's First Wednesdays so the whole block is going to turn up.

Swipe back to see Tony putting up the first outlines during , before we opened.

Come by for the reveal, meet Tony Whlgn in person, and stay for the block.

💥 Sunday means brunch til 4.

Pictured here, is our Garden Frittata. Sautéed mushrooms, kale and tomatoes in there with feta, salty and soft against the eggs. Good with a side of bacon, better with a coffee or a cocktail and nowhere to be for the rest of the afternoon.

Reservations at the link in our bio.
