The Mapua Sprig and Fern Tavern brings a national award winning brand to Mapua! Located across the road from the popular Mapua Community Hall, the Sprig & Fern is a family friendly tavern open from 12pm –late. The full range of locally brewed craft beer, ales and ciders are served along with a good number of the best local wines. A warm fire and comfy armchairs make having a good long social chat

Beef patty topped with smoked brisket chop, double cheese, to***co onions, IPA aioli, dressed lettuce, pickles, house-made burger sauce on a toasted buttermilk cheese bun served with house cut chips. And it wouldn't be Sprig + Fern without the perfect beer pairing for this smoky masterpiece: the Pinner Pilsner! 🍺

Let's brie honest, this is our best work yet 🥧

We've teamed up with Dave from Little River Cheese to create the perfect pie trifecta: chicken, cranberry, and brie.

Buttery flaky pastry exterior, as much melty locally-made brie as we could fit, plenty of chicken, and sweet cranberry dotted throughout this absolute golden snitch of a pie.

Served with a pint, mushy peas, and gravy. Hot pie, warm fire, fresh beer, CHEESE... Cold nights don't stand a chance. 🔥 You're gonna want this one, and it's only available today. Better brie quick!

Today's Pie & a Pint special doubles down on the pint part, big time 🍺 Our classic Steak and Porter pie harnesses the power of a not-so-secret special ingredient: the Sprig + Fern Grizzly Porter. The signature velvety dark ale brings out all the rich, melt-in-your-mouth flavours of steak for the perfect winter combo. 👌 And it comes served with any pint of your choice, so you can either pair it with a full dose of Porter or lighten the mood with a slightly brighter brew.

We also frequently get asked if we make the pies in-house, and the answer is OF COURSE! Chef Tim & Pierre undoubtedly sit amongst Tasman's pie extraordinaires, putting in the hard yards to come up with gourmet creations like this every week and whip 'em up fresh and golden on the day.
