Amy MacIver Celebration of Life

Amy MacIver, my beloved partner and best friend of 32 years, had a bad fall and died while hiking on the Klondyke Spur in Victoria Forest Park, New Zealand in early December 2025.

I will be holding two celebrations of Amy and her amazing life in April, and I invite you to join me at one of the events.

- Mapua - April 9th, 2026 at Mapua Community Hall. From 4pm

- Wellington - April 23rd, 2026 at Zealandia, Karori. From 4pm

This will be an informal event to share memories and thoughts of Amy. If you have anything you'd like to share but aren't comfortable speaking, please send something through to me, and it will be read out.

To assist with seating & catering, I would be very grateful if you could let me know if you'll be attending, and which event.

I look forward to seeing you and celebrating my wonderful Amy together.

A special thank you to our beautiful community for your messages of condolences and love.

Thank you to all those who have offered meals. At Adam's request, if you would like to support, please donate to our local legends at the Māpua Kai Collective. 03 1354 0464683 30
Adam will be home and have an open door for visitors on Friday and Sunday 1pm-4pm. 12 Lionel Place.

A memorial will be held for Amy in late January, early February at the community centre. Details to come.

Thank you again to our special community. We know Adam and family have been warmed by your outpouring of love for Amy.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the loss of our wonderful Amy. Amy tragically passed away on Friday evening while tramping. Such shocking and devastating news. We are so sorry to everyone who knew, liked and loved Amy. She absolutely loved being part of the Mapua community and felt she had a special place here at Java Hut that helped connect her to so many beautiful people. Amy was passionate, enthusiastic and kind and her absence will be felt by our whole community. To her husband, Adam and family, we are so sorry for your loss.
