Yesterday, this absolute legend ran the Brighton Marathon. 🏃♂️✨
26.2 miles of pounding pavements, wobbly legs, questionable life choices around 35km, and somehow still enough energy left for a victory beer at the end. A small miracle in a yellow vest 😉.
So unbelievably proud of Olly. Not just for crossing the finish line, but for the months of early mornings, long runs, determination and sheer stubbornness that got him there. Not easy when you spend your days working chef hours. Somehow, between the chaos, the kitchen, and family life, he still found the time to train. Mile by mile, in the small slivers of time he had.
The children were beside themselves waiting for him at the finish, and seeing them launch themselves at him afterwards was pure gold… although I think Olly’s marathon-weary legs may have had slightly different feelings about being tackled at speed five minutes after 26.2 miles. A medal, a hug, a patch of Brighton sunshine and a face that said “never again”… at least until next year. 🌞🏅
You are one of the good ones, Olly. We are all so proud of you. ❤️
