Yesterday, this absolute legend ran the Brighton Marathon. 🏃‍♂️✨

26.2 miles of pounding pavements, wobbly legs, questionable life choices around 35km, and somehow still enough energy left for a victory beer at the end. A small miracle in a yellow vest 😉.

So unbelievably proud of Olly. Not just for crossing the finish line, but for the months of early mornings, long runs, determination and sheer stubbornness that got him there. Not easy when you spend your days working chef hours. Somehow, between the chaos, the kitchen, and family life, he still found the time to train. Mile by mile, in the small slivers of time he had.

The children were beside themselves waiting for him at the finish, and seeing them launch themselves at him afterwards was pure gold… although I think Olly’s marathon-weary legs may have had slightly different feelings about being tackled at speed five minutes after 26.2 miles. A medal, a hug, a patch of Brighton sunshine and a face that said “never again”… at least until next year. 🌞🏅

You are one of the good ones, Olly. We are all so proud of you. ❤️

Mother is a powerful word.
And Mother’s Day is one of those days that carries a lot — love, gratitude, chaos, pride, exhaustion… all of it.

Thank you to my first for initiating me into the club,
and thank you to my second for giving me a whole new perspective and confirming that two little rascals was exactly the right number 🤣

To all the women out there — whether you’re officially called “mum” or not — we mother.
We nurture, we hold things together, we carry more than anyone sees.

And whether the choice to mother was yours or not, it often feels like the world has an opinion either way.

So today… take the day.
Take the rest, the space, the coffee, the walk, the quiet, the chaos — whatever you need.

Because women do a lot. More than we give ourselves credit for most of the time.

And thank you to mine, for staying the course while I was completely mean, mostly oblivious, and far too busy growing up to notice just how amazing you are. ❤️
