Built in the 16th century the hotel has been a private residence, a Bishop’s house and a Benedictine convent – for the past 150 years it has been a hotel. We have an excellent reputation for fine food and service, with flexibility to accommodate your every need. We have been awarded an AA Rosette for fine dining and service. Situated in 100 yards from the bustling high street close the Winchester Cathedral, we enjoy a location so quiet we could be in the countryside. There is a beautiful award-winning walled garden for you to enjoy and car parking for up to 50 cars; we cannot accommodate parking for coaches. Festive Party Nights at The Wi******er Royal are back for December - and whether you're planning the works do, a birthday, or just a proper night out with your favourite people, you're welcome.

October at The Wi******er Royal is a busy one. Our Wedding Fayre kicks things off on Sunday 11th, followed by an Evening of Jazz with Harriet on Friday 23rd. Our monthly pick for a Hampshire afternoon worth making.

This month: Stockbridge. A Georgian market town on the River Test, around 20 minutes from Wi******er. The Wykeham Gallery is worth the stop - paintings, sculpture, ceramics and glass with a rotating programme. Good independent shops, and Stockbridge Down if you fancy a walk after.
