Prashad is an award winning, family run Indian vegetarian restaurant in the heart of Drighlington. Our aim is to give you a unique culinary experience consisting of the highest quality, lovingly made Gujurati and North Indian vegetarian food, served in an intimate and welcoming environment by knowledgeable, intuitive and friendly staff. At Prashad (meaning blessed food), our highly experienced and passionate chefs bring you authentic, ‘home style’ vegetarian cuisine from Gujarat, Punjab and South India handed down through the generations. Our menu has been designed to introduce your palette to new tastes, flavours and textures using age old techniques, from the best ‘roadside snacks’ to richer, more robust dishes. Prashad favourites include our famous Gujarati street-food Chaat, known for being the best in the UK, and our South Indian Massala Dosa, which we have spent years perfecting and now boast the best recipe outside of Kerala (the secret is in the dough preparation!) Alongside these classics, we have a number of ever-changing specials, made with locally-sourced, seasonal produce. Kaushy Patel, founder of Prashad, is the author of two well established cookery books showcasing the best of Indian vegetarian cuisine. CULINARY EXCELLENCE AWARD 🏆 Wow, what a night! Yesterday we headed over to Manchester for the 2026 Indian Restaurant Summit & Honours, and we definitely felt honoured when they announced Prashad as the winners of this year's culinary excellence award.

Such a proud moment, and one that meant the world to share with mum and dad, the founders of Prashad, and our daughter Maitri 🧡

The awards were judged by an incredibly esteemed and talented panel, including one of Minal's heroes, chef Atul Kochhar.

Getting to share our food with you every day is a dream come true, so thank you to each and every single one of our customers who dines with us, orders takeout, posts a photo, recommends us to a friend... the list goes on. We couldn't do what we love without you!

Happy birthday Mum 🎂 Please join us in wishing many happy returns to everyone’s favourite auntie, Kaushy. The woman who helped build the strong foundations upon which Prashad stands today. No one brightens up a room (or the world around them) quite like our Kaushy, thanks to that infectious smile and energy.

She’s stayed positive and strong through every challenge life has thrown our way. Her endless warmth shines through into her amazing food. Her generosity knows no bound, and our love of giving back and supporting our community was nurtured from the very beginning by her.
