Have you ever thought about what later life looks like for you? We mean, really?

You spend a lot of time planning for the next holiday, the next house, car, or what you're doing at the weekend. But planning for later life? It’s just too easy to put off.

But knowing what you want – and having the right legal arrangements in place to support those wishes – can make such a big difference to you and your family.

So on Friday, we're heading to The Later Living Show in Leatherhead, a free community event bringing together practical advice, information and local services to help people plan for and enjoy later life.

And we're not just going along for the free coffee...! ☕

At 1pm, we’ll be giving a talk about some of the legal aspects of later life things worth thinking about, and the steps you can take now to make life easier for you and the people you care about.

We'll also be there throughout the day, so if you've been meaning to ask someone about wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney or planning ahead, come and find us. Questions are very welcome!

There's plenty more happening throughout the day too, with talks, activities, local organisations to meet, plus lunch and refreshments.

We should say hello - because almost 200 of you have joined us since last month! 👋🏾

Welcome to The Plough Inn, Coldharbour – a country pub nestled in the foothills of the Surrey Hills, just a stone’s throw from Leith Hill.

And if you’ve only just found us, there’s quite a lot going on here…

🍺 We’re a real village pub, serving local ales alongside good food and a warm welcome.

🍳 We now serve Saturday breakfast from 8am–10.45am – and you don’t need to be staying with us to tuck in.

🍔 Thursday night means Burger Night – choose any burger, served with a pint of b**r, glass of w**e or soft drink, for £19.95.

🍽️ Sundays are for roasts, obviously. But there are plenty of other delicious options on the menu too.

🛏️ We have six ensuite bedrooms, so you can turn your trip to the Surrey Hills into an easy overnight stay.

🍻 We have our own microbrewery, and you can sample some of the b**rs from behind the bar.

🛍️ And then there’s our village shop next to the pub and selling local goods and delicious treats.

🥂 Our Barn is available for hire too – for weddings, parties, celebrations, meetings and events.

Then there’s the rather lovely Surrey Hills right outside our door. Walk Leith Hill, cycle the lanes, bring the dog, get muddy… and come and see us along the way.

And here? Expect delicious food, great b**r, a bit of village life, plenty of what's happening at the pub and lots of reasons to come and enjoy everything a traditional country pub has to offer.

Celebrating the end of the week, getting together with your favourite people, having a few drinks, and welcoming in the weekend.

Summer's not over until we say it is...! ☀️🍻

Yes, the evenings are getting a little shorter. Yes, September is almost here. Yes, we've noticed those first signs of autumn too.

But we're not putting summer away just yet. You with us?!

There's still time for a long lunch in the garden. A cold pint after a walk through the Surrey Hills. Dinner while there's still some light in the evening. And all those fresh summer dishes you haven't worked your way through yet.
