Thank you for the opportunity to hug you all this weekend, its was wonderful to see everyone return with open arms. Its a joy to have all of you & Mom Back. P.S. Highly Recommend you Try the Tongue dish, a most tender cut of beef and a gloriously seasoned broth for double dipping, it will change your mind!

Cafe Natasha chef Hamishe Bahrami has returned from retirement to pair her Persian cooking with daughter Natasha's acclaimed cocktail bar.

Post-Dispatch restaurant critic Ian Froeb writes:

"This is no Vegas-style nostalgia remedy. When I ordered the beef tongue, bar lead Katie Hartland suggested treating the dish like birria tacos. Spread a little of the zingy curry mustard accompanying the tongue on a piece of lavash. Add a smear of the house yogurt dip (a separate, but vital order) with tart pomegranate seeds and tangy pomegranate molasses. Fold a slice of tongue, a frond of fresh dill and the pickled vegetable relish torshi in the lavash and dip the whole thing in the broth."

The Gin Room returns Cafe Natasha’s Brilliant food to S. Grand. Wow. My heart skips a beat. I read the review again and try to hold back all the emotions it drums up.

Her praise, means more than any JB nomination, Gin Hall of Fame or Gin accolade. Mom, and Mom & Dad’s recipes and love filled food, as humble and full of love as she can give, her food being categorized to received a “Highly Recommended” one of the highest acclaims one can get from the infamous Post Dispatch food critic. Cafe Natasha was his first review 20 years ago “The Loving Tongue” and i remember the review as its etched in my head.

Both Mom & Dad bore their souls in this food to share with the St Louis community so many years ago yet Mom, the center of our world, left the cushy comfort of retirement to allow us to have it again…. Her food, a revival of the passionate cooking both Mom & Dad created over 40 years ago, now lives on inside The Gin Room.

We take this as the highest honor to have both passion projects dance side by side in this tiny but mighty corner of S. Grand.
