Hey guys!!! Our friends Magnolia Provisions are hosting a dinner series to benefit local chefs and others in our food scene and they invited us to cook for their fall harvest dinner next Saturday evening, October 17th!! If you’re unaware, Ryan Albritton and thefoundingfarmerswife have an awesome urban farm right here in the city. We’ll feature food that they’ve grown alongside other local and sustainably raised products. You’ll be able to see their homestead model and we can all talk about our local foodways while drinking and eating delicious items grown and prepared with love. So we’ve done 4 popups Sump Coffee so far and you all have been so supportive! I’ve taken this opportunity to do a little experimentation with the recipes, mostly with trying out high extraction flours. Last week, I made an adjustment to the brioche and I was not happy with the outcome. If you know me, then you know that I let it ruin my day…..maybe two days….and I probably annoyed a couple of people along the way by talking about it ad nauseam. However, as I was talking to a friend about it, he reminded me of a technique that I had pushed aside somewhere along the journey. Well, it made a great improvement, and I’m super psyched about it. Come get a sandwich or a pistachio roll tomorrow, Saturday the 3rd, and let me know what you think!

I made some new breakfast brioche flavas for you today: roasted oyster and chestnut mushrooms with Gruyère, and chorizo, spinach, and cheddar. And of course neuske’s bacon and prairie breeze cheddar. Let me know what you think! Available at Sump this morning until we sell out.

Quick update! We’re halfway through our second week of demo and things are coming apart in the best way. We had a little hiccup with Ameren and the crazy electric service that was here, but nothing that couldn’t be resolved relatively easily. Stay tuned for more….

Our Gelateria fundraiser is underway. Last year, when their shop burned down, our own Danni Eickenhorst created this drawing for The Gelateria's owners - Andy and Amanda Fair, to remind them of better days. This weekend, as part of our fundraiser, we will have 30 copies available for purchase for $25 each. 100% of the net sales will go to help Andy and Amanda's rebuild fund. Stop into our South Grand location this weekend - and buy our top-selling St. Louis Dog. 50% of every St. Louis Dog sold will go to help them rebuild today through Sunday!

Notes: 3rd party delivery orders will not count toward the fundraiser due to high fees, but if you order delivery through the mobile app, we will count the sale! Also, we will not accept modifiers for the fundraiser - as we get quite busy and can't do custom orders. (No extreme modifiers like "I'll take a St. Louis Dog - but take off all the toppings and add mac and cheese." Try it as it is. You'll love it!)
