Established in 1884, Maldaner's Restaurant and Catering is one of Springfield's finest restaurants. If you have visited The Old State Capitol, Frank Lloyd Wright's Dana-Thomas House or the State Capitol, you can imagine the wonderful celebrations Maldaner's likely was a part of at the turn of the last century and to the present day. Today, under the guidance of Chef-Owner Michael Higgins, Maldaner's respects tradition while offering the best of contemporary American fine dining in our historical setting. Chef Higgins features seasonal local and regional ingredients influenced by Mediterranean composition and preparation. Heirloom vegetables, humanely raised meats and Slow Food all artistically prepared and presented.

A huge thank you to the City of Springfield Department of Public Works for all of their hard work getting Monroe Street open and ready just in time for the 25th Annual International Route 66 Mother Road Festival!

As Springfield welcomes visitors downtown to celebrate the festival and the 100th anniversary of Route 66, we are so appreciative of everyone who has worked hard to get our downtown ready for this exciting weekend.

We can’t wait to see the cars, welcome visitors, and celebrate 100 years of the Mother Road right here in downtown Springfield! 🚗✨

What a wonderful evening at the DSI Friends of the Market Dinner!

We are incredibly grateful to Downtown Springfield, Inc. for bringing our community together for such a special event and for giving us the opportunity to be part of it. It was a pleasure working alongside so many talented people who share a passion for supporting local food and local farms.

A very special thank you to all of the farmers and producers who contributed to our dish: Mueller Farms,Baalman’s, Gregory’s, Choice Roots, Harvest & Blooms, Krones, Cloyd’s Apples, Suttill’s Farm, Salt Fork Store, and Voss Pecans. Your hard work and incredible products are what made our dish possible.

And of course, thank you to everyone who attended and supported the Friends of the Market Dinner. Events like this are a wonderful reminder of just how special our local food community is.

We are so thankful to have been a part of it! ❤️
