Sometimes even we get to leave Solvang! ✈️🏔️

We’re in Colorado for a wedding and thought we’d grab a little Danish pastry for breakfast.

Ummm… 😳

We may have been spoiled.

When you’re used to fresh, authentic Danish pastries from Olsen's Danish Village Bakery in Solvang, apparently “Red Raspberry Danish” just doesn’t hit the same. 😂

We miss you, Olsen’s! 🇩🇰❤️

Note to self: Next time we leave town, pack pastries. 🥐

Look what we found tucked away in storage! ❤️

A wonderful old photo advertisement for the Royal Copenhagen Motel — long before we became the Royal Copenhagen Inn.

From the classic Danish architecture and vintage guest rooms to the swimming pool (and check out that pool furniture! 😄), it’s amazing to see how much has changed over the years…and how much of the Royal Copenhagen’s character is still recognizable today.

The sign says it all: Phones • TV • Heated Pool • Air Conditioning — the height of luxury! 😂

We’re not exactly sure what year this advertisement is from, so we’d love some help from our longtime Solvang friends. Anyone remember the Royal Copenhagen looking like this? Can you help us date it?
