Four kitchens, four completely different homes and clients

I’m not particularly interested in having a recognizable “look.” I’m more interested in getting to know my clients, understanding the home, and allowing the relationship between the two to guide where we go.
The client and the home become my muse. I listen, observe, respond—and somewhere in that process, the design begins to reveal itself.
Same me. Very different kitchens.

The progression of light in a space isn’t just a byproduct of the time of day; it acts as the primary architectural material that dictates how a space feels.
While recently on vacation at Rosewood Mandarina with my family, I couldn’t help but observe light and how it interacted with our suite.
The progression begins on the terrace—fully ambient, expansive, and entirely exposed to the horizon.
In the corridor that leads to the outdoor shower light becomes directional - slicing into pieces, creating a rhythmic envelope of shade that draws you deeper into the space.
Inside the suite, the sheer linen becomes a screen, diffusing light into a weightless, milky glow - blurring the wild edge of the jungle outside.
In the bath, the light has been reduced to a whisper. The dark stone and sand color plaster capture the reflected light, leaving only a moody, quiet sanctuary.
Which do you prefer?

There is a moment during a build where everything is stripped back - no furniture, no fabric - the architecture stands entirely on its own. A study in structural honesty and natural light in Montecito
