Did you know that the place where 19 people were actually hanged in 1692 is about a mile outside of downtown Salem, in a quiet residential neighborhood? The Proctor’s Ledge Memorial, dedicated in 2017, is easy to miss but totally worth the visit. Please go respectfully - it’s a place of remembrance, set among neighbors’ homes.
