Pizza Guys opened their first store in Sacramento in the summer of 1986. Founders Shahpour Nejad and Reza Kalantari sought to mix authentic East Coast flavors with fresh California ingredients. Their first restaurant was called Superb Pizza and offered pizzas, salads and wings for delivery, takeout and dine-in. Shahpour and Reza changed the name to Pizza Guys and began franchising in 1994.
