The Fiction Kitchen brings you the experience diners have been craving in downtown Raleigh: thoughtfully prepared vegan cuisine from a 100% vegan kitchen.

Creative and comforting food which is locally sourced and seasonally inspired, in an eclectic and ever-evolving atmosphere. Our 50 seat dining area consists of several small tables and 12 bar seats. We do not take reservations, with the exception of our Valentine's dinner, so parties are seated on a first come, first serve basis. We strongly encourage a heads up for parties between 6 and 8 people.

Our largest table accommodates a party of 8 so large parties are seated on a situational basis. Take out orders are available, except during peak business hours. Out of respect for our staff, our last seating is 15 minutes prior to close. The Fiction Kitchen is happy to offer the Triangle area affordable, fresh and delicious food and beverages which will appeal to vegans, vegetarians, and food-curious omnivores alike. Press:

If you are a regular guest of ours, you may have heard us play Dolly Parton radio (especially at brunch).
Dolly had the Southern wit and charm that made us believe in humanity.

🍅In good Southern representation, we are running our heirloom tomato pie as the Farmers plate this week. It has a cornmeal crust and will come with creamed corn and smoked speckled butter beans.

🦎Locavore salad will be thinly sliced local zucchini and squash, red onions, black pepper almonds and Darë Vegan Cheese balsamic goat cheese in a white balsamic vinaigrette

🍈The soup is a chilled cantaloupe for now but will move to a lentil chili later in the week

We would like to remind everyone we do have outdoor seating now! It has been almost too hot to use it, but tonight seems like a lovely night to catch the sunset on our patio. 🌅

🥕🍤 Farmers market plate features Japanese eggplant & hand made carrot button noodles sauteed in a peppercorn-garlic sauce with marinated and seared Konjac root shrimp finished with our Sriracha mayo, scallions and sesame seeds

🥣 We have a bit of carrot-ginger-turmeric soup until we roll into a lentil chili on Friday

🥗🫜Our Locavore salad will feature cucumber, carrots, cabbage and radishes with tofu bacon, peanut sauce and Sriracha peanuts

🍕Just started school? We got a 16inch pizza for take out Wednesday and Thursdays. We have cheese, pepperoni and this week the special pie is a white pie with garlic-olive oil base, mozzarella, tomatoes, tofu feta and basil 🌿

Just like all small/locally owned businesses we have been a little on the slow end lately. Please remember, we have a little something for everyone. From fantastic Zero proof cocktails, small plates, gluten free items and the obvious dairy free options, we can find something for any member of your party.

For the first part of this dining week, we have made an amazing French onion 🧅 soup for you, complete with toasted baguette and melty cheese cap.

The Farmers plate was the same featured last weekend, so if you did not get to grab one Friday or Saturday you are in luck. It’s a local tomato curry with tandoori style local eggplant, basmati rice, house made garlic naan and cilantro 🌿

💫Don’t sleep on our new pizza offerings (only available Wednesday and Thursday) This week we have our cheese with fresh basil, pepperoni or a specialty pie with olive oil-garlic base, mozzarella, figs, tofu goat cheese, balsamic reduction and fresh arugula

We do have room for walk-ins tonight, and open reservations all week long. You can also order take out from us via your local toast app or our website. Don’t forget about that new delivery option then ordering from the website.

We may be known for our Eastern style pulled BBQ, but when you are in need of tasty plant based fare that is locally sourced and thoughtfully presented we got you covered. 🍑🍓🍒🍎🍊

Our pepperoni made it in this morning, and we happened to have some dough left over from yesterday.
So, we present to you for lunch today and tomorrow till we sell out: your own personal pizza with cheese or pepperoni

Come on in and try it today (a little over an hour of lunch service left, then we are back out it tomorrow 11:30).

It features marinated and grilled eggplant on a delicious blend of roasted sweet corn, heirloom cherry tomatoes, tofu feta & spinach cold salad.
