Wine Tasting Thursday!
Hey all,
This Thursday we've got a special treat at the Market as we always do. Andrew from Uncorked is coming to pour three wines tonight each with a story to tell about old vines, organic farming, and artisan producers in Spain and France.
First up, the Guilhem Blanc from Mas de Daumas Gassac. It's easy drinking, refreshing, but packed with enough citrus and mineral notes.
Then we have the Care Garnacha Blanca from Cariñena in Aragón. This one is a blend of old-vine Grenache Blanc and Colombard (with a touch of Rolle) that's been getting some serious love from critics, It pours with this intense nose of greengage and orange zest, but the real magic is in its balance between freshness and structure.
Last but not least, the Care Garnacha from the same estate. This is their red flagship. This one's got a 91-points for its stony character, sweet tannins, and fresh herbal notes. It pours like a classic Spanish Rioja or Ribera del Duero meets old-vine Grenache. To me it's got this nice fall spice thing going on in it. I like it on a hot days. It reminds me there is a fall coming, someday, sometime.
All wines in the building are 10% off by the bottle tonight as they always are on Thursdays during the tasting. That of course includes these we're tasting. So come pick your favorite!
So come on down between 5-7pm, grab a glass and say hello to Andrew. We'll have bites from our food vendors ready to pair.
Meet me at St. Roch,
Kevin
