Dear Atwater,

As some of you may have already heard, Kaldi will be closing its doors soon. After nearly two decades of serving the Atwater community and watching it completely transform, we were so happy to be one of the neighborhood’s fixtures. Our goal, always, was to keep things warm, friendly and on the level. Good coffee can be a simple thing. It’s everything around it that mattered most to us. The big community that formed around this little ritual of getting your buzz on.

We love our regulars. We love every iteration of barista dream teams who have worked with us over the years. We love this odd and wonderful village tucked into the north eastern corner of the greater Los Angeles. Thank you all for having us and for sticking by us during these past couple of years, through all the masks and the measures.

All that being said, this is not really an ending! At least not entirely. As you also may have heard, we are going to be teaming up with the beloved owners of the beloved Dune to create something that we see as a direct continuation of the Kaldi spirit. A cafe, a bar, an Eastern European twist, a place to hang out. We can’t wait to share it with you.

Until then, here’s what we’re going to do. On Friday, March 11th we’re going to celebrate our last day. There’ll be free coffee, free food, live music and exclusive merch. If you’d like to come by and bid us farewell, please stay tuned for more details. We’d love to see you there.
