It begins in Sicily at the foothills of Mount Etna, our ever-active volcano that lights up the night sky with its red, scary, majestic beauty. This is where our Family comes from: the very centre of the Mediterranean Sea, full of blinding sunlight, continuously blowing in unique scents and aromas from the past. The old Family recipes, the deep knowledge of our tradition, the thorough search of the best ingredients and the ability to combine them all together with our own passionate touch. We really care about what we do: our pasta is freshly made, our varieties of cheese are all imported, our vegetables are organic, our cuts of meat are all top-shelf, our w**e list is mostly a tribute to Italian local producers. We are from the South, and we don’t forget that. But we would like You to join us on a flavourful journey that from Sicily takes You through bits and pieces of the broad Italian culinary tradition. Our goal is to offer You a good time through uncompromising, genuine Italian recipes. We only ask you to be a little patient while we make them fresh: some call it “slow food”, for us it is the only way to cook. Our story is reflected in our dishes. We hope You enjoy the experience.

Thank you so much for your understanding yesterday. We had an unexpected staffing Emergency and our pizza oven had to take a little break.

Everybody is ok and we are happy to say that pizza is back tonight.

Seven years ago, we opened La Norma hoping to bring a little piece of Sicily to Longboat Key.

We never imagined how many wonderful people would become part of our lives.

So many of you have celebrated birthdays and anniversaries with us, joined our w**e dinners and cooking classes, brought your families and friends, and returned again and again.

Somewhere along the way, many of our guests became our friends.

Recently, more than 1,000 of you have taken the time to share your experience on OpenTable. Behind every review is a meal, a celebration, a conversation, or a special memory, and we never take your kindness and support for granted.

Today we enjoyed a w**e tasting at Cottanera, one of the renowned w**eries of Mount Etna, while Sicily’s majestic volcano put on a show in the background.

As Sicilians, we return home each year to visit family and reconnect with the traditions that inspire us at La Norma. The volcanic soils of Etna produce some of Italy’s most fascinating w**es, and experiences like these remind us why we love sharing Italian w**e with our guests in Longboat Key.
