I talk a lot about my work, because I love it. And when I talk about it, I am almost 100% talking about our 3 Jackson-based restaurants which my wife Debbie Good and I own and lead.
What I fail to talk about enough is our partnership with Hali Munn and Patrick Munn the owners of the PHENOMENAL Sal & Mookie's - Madison. Tucked away in the Colony Crossing Shopping Center on Local 463 and Bozeman Road, their location is quaint, homey and the food is always on point!
They are entering the summer with a great need for additional help. Yes, we always talk about service help, because that's what guests see.. but for them, their REAL NEED IS KITCHEN ASSISTANCE!

The Sal & Mookie's menu is vast and made from scratch... they are looking for a few good men and women who want to work in a positive environment, make authentic dishes, and be appreciated for their efforts. Sounds like a dream job for anyone in our line of work!

Most everyone knows that I am in recovery... almost thirty years since I had a drink. I learned to drink in college and never really "grew out of that". So, life is a lot better, and mornings a lot clearer, than they used to be all those years ago.

As a restaurateur, I employ a lot of people.. many of whom remind me of my former self. Fun is fun, but when fun stops being fun, help is needed.

For decades we have had an amazing free resource for recovery right here in the heart of Jackson. YANA... that "little yellow house on Hartfield Street" has been a central home for AA meetings and a place hundreds upon thousands of Mississippians have ventured through on the road to sobriety.

Many of you saw the news a month ago about the mentally ill man who burned down the side of the house. Well, insurance covers some of the work, but not all. And the YANA HOUSE needs us!

PLEASE.. on this holy weekend... look into your heart and see if you cannot offer up a donation to help rebuild this magical, spiritual, transformational place.

So I want to reach out to people my age.

Certainly there are a few middle-aged folks out there who would love to “run away with the circus”.

Don’t we all want that sense of newness and adventure?

The only problem is circus life is really hard and there are lions.

So, I have an alternative for my 50+++ year old friends out there.

Wonderful room, great guests, fantastic food, and fun, collaborative co-workers.

And I don’t want a lot from you. 10 am to 2/3 pm a few weekdays a week. Or weekends. Or both. Or a little here and a little there.

You get to wear nice clothes.

You get a little exercise (but not too much) walking people to their tables and welcoming them.

You get to meet hundreds of people.

You get to be a part of our 32 years and running success of a business!!
