If you stepped into a time machine and went back to 1950, what would you find? If you're like most of America, you'd probably envision classic cars cruising down the center of town, houses with pristine lawns and white fences, and leather jackets and poodle skirts. It's also when DJ's Drive In, a local ice cream parlor turned diner, opened its doors to the Floyd, VA, community, quickly becoming a

mainstay for families and youth to come together and savor the taste of simpler times. Today you can enjoy all your comfort food favorites, made fresh, along with the same upbeat, welcoming vibe that brought in our very first customers. Cruise down Main Street and stop by the little burgundy building for a delicious dose of nostalgia.

We were so happy to have the Floyd County High School Running Program at our restaurant for another fundraiser! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We truly love supporting our community and helping local groups raise money for the causes that mean so much to them. ❤️

"Stopped here for lunch coming through Floyd from a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. First time we’d ever eaten here, and it was so worth it!! The “Dave”sandwich was amazing, with its chicken, ham, bacon, grilled onions, cheese, lettuce and BBQ sauce! What flavor!

They come out to your car to take your order and deliver the food like the drivein restaurants of long ago. The owner was super friendly and helpful.
We will definitely be back!"

One side is almost finished, and we’ve already gone through more than 200 tags. We’ll need roughly 900 tags to complete the entire project!

If you have a tag you no longer want—or if you’d like to make your mark on our building—stop by and drop it off. ❤️

We encourage you to write a note, a name, a memory, or a thought on your tag so it can become a part of our restaurant and be remembered forever.
