This month, we’re proud to spotlight Barb Owsley! 🌻💛 From her strong Basque roots to her positive outlook and unwavering work ethic, Barb embodies so much of what makes The Star special. Take a moment to get to know one of the wonderful people behind your dining experience. ⬇️

“When I think about what matters most to me, family is at the top of the list. I’ve been married to my husband, Kirk, for 32 years, and together we’ve raised two awesome sons, Mitchell and Kyle, plus a couple of dogs who keep things lively at home. My roots trace back to the Basque Country, where my dad immigrated from to come to the United States — and I think that’s where my work ethic comes from. Watching him build a life here taught me what it means to put your head down and put in the effort. I’m proud of my Basque roots and carry that with me every day. My motto has always been “attitude is everything,” and I try to bring that energy to whatever I’m doing. I also get to work alongside my older brother every day, which is one of my favorite parts of the job. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outdoors — walking, hiking, or hunting. Getting outside is what keeps me recharged and ready for whatever’s next.”

For generations, we’ve been proud to celebrate the American dream while honoring our Basque roots. This country gave so many Basque families the opportunity to build a life in the American West, and we’re grateful to carry on those traditions around our tables every day.
