It may still feel like summer on the Damariscotta River, but we’re already thinking about winter.
We’re estimating which oysters will be ready in November and December, getting seed where it needs to be, and starting to prepare the cages that will eventually be sunk for the colder months.
Summer doesn’t last long on an oyster farm.

Join us Friday (9/4) and Saturday (9/5) from 4 to 6:30 for oysters, drinks, yetiboysfoodtruck, and one more evening by the river. On Saturday, yetiboysfoodtruck will also have a tuna and scallop raw bar.

Meet September’s Oyster of the Month: Pleasant Coves.
Farmed by Clay Gilbert and Greg Johnson near the mouth of the Damariscotta River, these cocktail-sized oysters grow in cold, nutrient-rich water.

Expect an upfront ocean brine, a little minerality, and a clean, sweet finish.

Small oyster. Plenty of Damariscotta River flavor.

Take the drive down River Road to Glidden Point for oysters and lunch.

Finish the afternoon with ice cream from 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐈𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦.

Hard to argue with a day like that.
