Three out of the four Goldens were sacked out right in the doorway as we were getting ready for the wedding this afternoon. Knuckleheads. We simply walked around or stepped over them because didn’t want to wake them❤️

Johanna and I are at our brother and sister-in-law’s in NH for the weekend to celebrate our niece’s wedding today. It’s been a wonderful couple days of prepping hors d’oeuvres in their kitchen while everybody else was outside setting up tables and chairs under the tent and decorating, etc.
There are four darling Golden Retrievers and a mixed breed sweet rescued pup named Oakley in the house milling around and sprawling on the floor underfoot, and we don’t mind at all. One of them had puppies 2 weeks ago today, their eyes are just starting to open. There are kitties cruising around as well checking out all the goings on. From the kitchen we can hear their rooster Randy which reminds me of our farm.
We are staying at an Airbnb right around the corner and will head over first thing this morning to get this party started. It’s going to be a spectacular wedding! And after party cooking pizzas by the firepit tonight and then breakfast for all tomorrow morning. We love our brother and his family❤️❤️❤️

The other day two couples stopped by the farmstand and I recognized them from a couple of years ago when they were visiting the area. We had a lovely chat, some laughs and I updated them on the animals they had met that last time they were here. They requested lobster stew to take home to a special loved one so of course I said yes and have made a batch. It was a treat to see them again, this farmstand has brought the most wonderful people into our lives whom we otherwise would never have met❤️
Extra lobster stew will be available in the farmstand until it sells out.

Little Lady Tilly Truffles found a way out of the piggy fenced in pen yesterday. Thank goodness Johanna had just pulled in the driveway and could help me. Even with two of us, it was quite a project to get her back in. She is stubborn and she is strong. Wow!

We examined the fencing and couldn’t find her escape hatch.

Then she did it again today, TWICE ! Luckily Johanna was here for both excursions, I don’t know how I could have done it without her - it takes one person to try to keep her from heading to the road and it takes another to run for a container of grain and a lead.

Again I walked the perimeter, wiggled and jiggled the entire fence. No clue as to where she’s getting out. So I sat watch for about an hour hoping to catch her in the act. No luck so she and her sister are spending a couple of hours in Piggy Prison so that I can clean stalls.

Johanna thinks that maybe pigs really can fly and she’s going over the fence. I am thinking that maybe I should put Jackson’s Tractive collar on Tilly !

⚡️News Flash ⚡️
We are now offering Herb Focaccia in the farmstand as a soup accoutrement (all fresh herbs-basil, garlic, parsley, rosemary and sage). Warm it in the oven, slice it thin to put in your toaster or toss on the grill for a few minutes like we did. Then spread with butter, or dip in your favorite olive oil. It can also be used for sandwiches or “fare la scarpata” (Italian meaning to “mop up the remaining sauce” on your plate).

It’s pictured here with our popular farmstand Roasted Tomato Soup which is vegetarian, vegan, gluten free as well as dairy free. It’s a good night for soup! Heck, every night is a good night for soup. Comfort food❤️
