My love for coffee began while studying to apply for medical school. After spending many hours drinking cup after cup across a good part of the world, I realized how important coffee had become in my life. With a strong foundation in chemistry, I dove head first into roasting my own like a mad scientist. I realized my love for medicine and science was in the experimentation process; and, with coffee, I was able to drink and enjoy the end product.

What happens when a former pro cyclocross racer takes on The Coffee Ride’s Thursday delivery route?

For Sunny Gilbert it means shortcuts, curb hops, sneaky stretches of singletrack, the occasional sprint to a doorstep, and a very loose interpretation of the suggested route.

Hailey hopped on her wheel for a Thursday afternoon to see what it takes to deliver a couple dozen coffee orders around Boulder by bike.

Small business can be tough. The only real guarantee is that nothing is ever a guarantee and every day will come with its own set of unique challenges.

The past couple of days looked a little bit differently here at the coffee ride, but when you show up and surround yourself with great humans and you get to brighten the day of your amazing customers by making them their favorite coffee, different starts to feel pretty good.
