“I know a place.”
That’s usually how it starts. Someone says it like they’re letting you in on something, and they are.
You walk through the door and the room pulls you in — stone walls, the smell of the wood grill, the hum of a full house. It feels like something before you’ve even sat down.
Then the food starts coming. Chef David’s kitchen doesn’t rush you. A bruschetta with braised wild boar ragù. A pasta that takes a minute to place, then you can’t stop thinking about it. Maybe a ribeye off the grill, or the salmon if you want something lighter. Another bottle of wine, because of course.
Somewhere between the second and third course you stop thinking about anywhere else.
That’s what 26 years of Italian food in Austin looks like. It’s not a performance — it’s just dinner, done right.
