Whitestone Cheese was founded in 1987 as a diversification during the 1980's rural downturn and a series of crippling droughts. The original factory was set up in a commercial garage with milk sourced from local farms and one cheese variety Farmhouse was launched. The business slowly grew as an extension of the farming operation until today's purpose built factory was commissioned in 1996. Son Sim

on joined the business with a new set of skills and the farm was sold to concentrate on the growing the exciting family enterprise.

Bold, full-bodied and uniquely Whitestone.

Our Aged Airedale was the first semi-soft style cheese we created, carefully matured for a minimum of six months under its signature red wax coating to develop its rich flavour and savoury finish.

Named after the Airedale farming district in North Otago, this cheese is a true taste of our place.
