Melrose is one of my favourite heritage homes and cafes, but has been closed for a fortnight with serious health challanges for its proprietors. Wishing Terrence all the best for recovery. It is now reopened and I encourage Nelsonians ( and visitors) to get out and enjoy this NCC owned, society managed treasure.

Jenny Shipley, NZs first woman PM, was raised in Motueka, loves our region and was a huge support to me as the caretaker MP when I first stood as a candidate for Tasman in the 1990 Election. Her experience, wisdom and global perspective made for lots of food for thought.

As the sun sets on 2026, we raise our cups of high tea to all who have stood by us.
