📢 HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF PAR TRACK 📢

We want to hear from you!

Whether you're a regular visitor, a member, use our gym, fitness classes, football pitches, athletics track, café, library, skate park, pump track, green trail, or Healthy Living services – your feedback matters.

We're launching our Par Track Community Survey to help us better understand:

✅ How we can continue to support our community

As a community organisation, your feedback helps us plan for the future and demonstrate the impact Par Track has on local people.

We would like to make everyone aware that the Environment Agency will be carrying out essential flood risk management works onsite.

🗓️ Works are expected to begin on or after 15 June and are anticipated to last for approximately one week.

The planned works include:
✅ Desilting of the river
✅ Use of plant and machinery on site
✅ Temporary storage of removed silt on the riverbank for up to 48 hours before it is taken away

These works are being undertaken by the Environment Agency under their statutory powers to manage flood risk and maintain watercourses.

At this stage, no action is required from site users. However, you may notice increased activity, machinery, and contractors working in and around the playing fields during this period.

We will do our best to keep any disruption to a minimum and appreciate your understanding while these important works are carried out.

🏃‍♀️ Help Us Keep Par Track Competition Ready! 🏃‍♂️

To ensure Par Track remains up to competition standard and can continue to host athletics events for clubs, schools and the wider community, we need to have the track professionally deep cleaned and fully re-lined early next year.

This specialist work is only carried out by a small number of companies, and the cost is significant – currently estimated at around £25,000.

Our aim is to raise at least half of this through community fundraising, while also exploring grants and other funding opportunities to help us reach the full amount needed.

Over the coming months we'll be running a variety of fundraising events and activities, and we'd love your support.

We're also planning a raffle as part of our fundraising efforts and are already looking for prize donations. If you are a local business, organisation, or individual who could donate a prize, voucher, experience, product or service, we would be incredibly grateful to hear from you.

As the only competition-grade athletics track in Cornwall licensed to hold events, Par Track plays a vital role in athletics across the county. Together, we can help ensure it continues to provide opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities for many years to come.

Today, we say goodbye to one of our original team members.

Connie has been with us since day one when the café first opened nearly 7 years ago, and throughout that time she has been a valued part of the Par Track family. From helping us get started in those early days to serving countless customers with a smile, Connie has played a huge role in our journey.

As she moves on to pastures new, everyone at Par Track would like to thank her for all her hard work, dedication, and friendship over the years.

We wish you every success and happiness in your next adventure, Connie. You'll always be part of the Par Track story, and we hope you'll pop in from time to time to say hello!

Connie's last shift is this evening, so if you'd like to pop in, grab a coffee and wish her well, we'd love to see you.

📢 Notice: Children's Play Park Closure

Please be advised that the Children's Play Park will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd June, to allow essential tree work to be carried out.

The work is expected to be completed within the day, and we anticipate the park will reopen as normal on Wednesday 3rd June.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding while this important maintenance is undertaken.

From now on, our gym will be opening at 9:00am every morning so you can get your workout in earlier and start the day strong. 🔥

Events start from 10am, so why not pop down and cheer on the athletes as they compete throughout the day.

📢 Opening Hours Update

Due to Monday evening being extremely quiet recently, we will be closing at 4pm on Mondays for the next couple of months.

All other opening times will remain the same.

To help us make sure we are making the right decisions with our opening hours, please ensure you book online when using the gym and track. If the gym and track appear empty, we may need to reduce or close opening times further.

We will continue to review this regularly and make changes if necessary. Thank you for your understanding and continued support — we really appreciate it! 😊
