Our next tasting is with Lochlea Distillery THIS Thursday, 20 August, at Diggers Leith, 7pm kickoff.

Perhaps you've had enough of Hearts' European form, perhaps you just enjoy a nice single malt whisky. Regardless of your reasons, this tasting will be a fantastic choice. Lochlea is a true single estate whisky, everything from growing the barley, distillation, maturation, and bottling occurs on site. Lochlea was also famously home to a certain Rabbie Burns once upon a time, with his father being a tenant farmer there.

Tickets cost £10pp, an absolute bargain, and are available over the bar or (for a small additional booking fee) at our Eventbrite.

A trio of new Thompson Bros: Glen Garioch 20, Clynelish 8, Benriach 12.

The Glen Garioch 20yo spent its full life maturing in a pair of red wine barriques. Bottled at 52.1% abv, £8.50/ 35ml.

The Clynelish 8yo was matured in refill bourbon hogsheads for a classic representation of the malt from an esteemed bottler. Bottled at 48% abv, £4.20/ 35ml.

Lastly, the Benriach 12yo was initially an experiment in the effects of finishing other whiskies in casks that had previously held their own Dornoch Distillery spirit. The experiment was so successful that they decided to bottle it after 21 months finishing in the ex-Dornoch octaves. Bottled at 53.7% abv, £6/ 35ml.
