The Borders Distillery comes of age with its inaugural bottling: an 8yo single malt matured in first-fill bourbon & madeira w**e casks. Bottled at 46% abv, only £3.50/35ml. A new distillery getting it right on the money.

Glenfarclas 190th Anniversary is the final release of the Anniversary Trilogy celebrating the milestones of this lauded Speyside distillery. Big, old-school wh**ky bottled at a hearty 51.4% abv. £10/35ml.

Two new whiskies from Master of Malt : Clynelish 12yo, and The Islay 20yo.

The Clynelish 12yo is from their Caskcade Collection, inspired by games arcades from the times of yore. Matured in oloroso and refill hogsheads, bottled at 50.5% abv, and much hyped by Graeme from the wh**ky stories podcast, yours for £4.50/35ml.

The Islay 20yo year old is the intermediate age statement in this new (and rather beautiful-looking) permanent range of unnamed Islay single casks. Sweet, tropical, and really bloody delicious. Bottled at 46.3% abv, try it for £12/35ml.

A trio of bottles from the 1st Kilchoman Family Collection: the 11yo, 14 yo, and 18yo.

The 11yo was matured in oloroso sherry butts using 50ppm peated malt from the Port Ellen maltings, and bottled at a marrying strength of 54.7% abv. £8.00/35ml.

The 14yo is the only bottle in the Family Collection made from barley grown and malted at Rockhill Farm, peated to 20ppm. It is a vatting of this spirit, distilled on 1 Jan 2011, and matured for 14 years in ex-bourbon barrels before being bottled at 50.9% abv. £9.00/35ml.

Finally, the 18yo was made of the spirit from the Port Ellen 50ppm malt, aged in bourbon barrels for 18 years and bottled at 50% abv. £12.00/35ml.

A few more bottles from Master of Malt. A Dailuaine 9yo finished in an amontillado octave, and a Mannochmore 13yo finished in a moscatel octave, both from their Darkness range; and a Master of Malt single cask Benrinnes 13yo that started in a refill HHD and was reracked into a PX octave (so not really a single cask, nearly though!).
