I am super excited to anounce yet another partnership with a fabulous local supplier. The reason for my excitement? We've now got Billtong as a snack option, courtesy of Triffords Farm near Wilmington.

A few of us in the pub last night got to sample both the traditional and slightly spicy flavours and they went down great, so much so that I've already sold some! Come down and try some whilst it's available.

This week I've decided to put on beers from my 3 favourite breweries, Theakston aside 😉.

First up we have Firebrand and a new special from them to tie in with the World Cup. It's a pale ale called VAR You Serious and it's another cracker! A really nice taste and sure to go down well.

Next we have a returning favourite from Glastonbury, their blonde ale, Liquid Hoptimism. It's absolutely delicious and full of flavour from the New Zealand hops in the recipe.

Finally we have Simply The Best from Quantock. This is the finest bitter I think we've ever put on and it yet again gets my vote for beer of the week.

Lastly, just to confirm that we didn't win the Best Bar in Devon award which was run recently by Muddy Stilettos. We can't see final placings but it was a great achievement to make the final and thanks once again for supporting us on this little adventure.
I say "little", but nearly half a million people voted across all the categories!

We’re really pleased to be partnering with another local supplier, Drinks Kitchen in Somerset, to bring you their non-alcoholic aperitifs.
You may have tried them at the recent Gate to Plate festival in Axminster which is where we sampled them and thought they’d be a great new addition for us.

We are trying out the Spiced Rhubarb and Herb Verde flavours which go perfectly with soda or tonic water. We’ve also trialled drinking them with gin or vodka to make some lovely mini-cocktails. Really refreshing in hot, sunny weather.

Following the success of last week's extra pale ale, Yakima, we have another one this week, Daydreamin' from Bristol Beer Factory. This is a lovely, slightly fruity pale ale which should be perfect in sunny weather, should we get any this weekend.

We have the return of Leggless Jester, Cerne Abbas's fabulous golden ale. This one is always very popular and it's easy to taste why; full of flavour and very smooth.

And also making a return we have Arthur's Ale, a bitter from Glastonbury. This was very popular the first time we tried it and for a beer with 3.4% abv it packs a real flavoursome punch.

I make it my beer of the week, but again, it's a very close contest between all three.

The FIFA World Cup starts tomorrow and I'm tipping Brazil to win it. My sport predictions are notoriously dreadful though! 🤣🤣

We have another strong line up this week with more newbies for The Ale Way.

First up is a special from Firebrand, an extra pale ale called Yakima. It's full of flavour and very refreshing; it should go down very well over the weekend.

Following on from one of our fastest ever sellers last weekend we have another one to try from Teignmouth Brewery. This time we have Ahoy, an IPA, and very impressive it is again too. It has a traditional IPA taste - simple but effective. This is going to be another tough week to pick a favourite!

I can't remember if we've had our last beer before. It's British Best Bitter from Utopian and continues our run of finding really nice bitters to taste. Again, really easy to drink with subtle flavours. I'm going to go with Yakima as this week's favourite but it's another close contest.

Last week's porter sold surprisingly well so there's a glimmer of hope for finding something similar over the summer months! As always though, we do continue to have Darkness from Exeter Brewery on tap.

We keep being asked when our next quiz is so we've decided to do a summer special!

We'll do a one-off quiz on Sunday 5th July and depending on numbers, and the weather, it may be outdoors.

As usual we will kick off at 3pm, so please book early if you'd like a table for up to 4 people.

Thanks to everyone who came last night to our fantastic first BBQ of the year with Jack from Railway Kitchen.

It was a really busy evening for us both and we loved seeing so many people there having a brilliant night.

We’ll be doing it again in July and will share the dates soon.

The voting for Best Bar in Devon through Muddy Stilettos has finished.

At the moment we can't see where we finished but the results will be anounced in the middle of June.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported us and voted for us during this little adventure. It's nice to be recognised for what we do.

I’ve been in North Yorkshire this week to visit my mum and whilst I was there I delivered the Theakston barrels back to where the magic happens!

My reward was a "Peculier pint in Paradise"! We'll aim to get some more later in the summer.
