Such sad news, he was our neighbour and a great part of the community for many years living next door to the pub ❤️❤️

Bill Lamb has sadly passed away. For those that did not have the pleasure of knowing him, he was a wonderful gardener and an excellent bridge player.

Bill and his wife Christine ran their garden nursery for many years, however covid struck, and they had lots of baby plants with no outlet. Bill approached the Old School Committee, and our new plant sale emerged. Bill and Chris donated all the proceeds from the plant sale to the old school, throughout Covid and over the next couple of years.

In January 2022, Bill hosted a bridge taster evening, which lead to him teaching many budding card players from Abthorpe and other local villages. Bill’s bridge knowledge was incredible, and the little bridge group emerged and is still growing.

Thank you Bill.
