Nothing screams autumn quite like a game pie - a hearty blend of venison and poultry, slow-cooked with smoked bacon and mushrooms in a rich red w**e gravy 🍷

Best served with cranberry and mozzarella mash and proper gravy 😋

This year at the Plough we are collecting for Towcester Toy Bank. We believe everyone deserves a Merry Christmas and kindly ask for donations to share the joy this festive season.

The Towcester Toy Bank was set up in 2020 to support parents and carers in providing their children with gifts during an unprecedented time of financial loss and hardship due to Covid 19, job losses and the cost of living crisis. Since then, they have continued to do their bit to support families in the local area at this special, but often difficult, time of year.

"Last year we packed 4,000 gifts and we are expecting even more referrals this year so we are in desperate need of your support. We rely solely on the local community to ensure that every child experiences the magic of Christmas."

Whilst we appreciate that Christmas can be an expensive time of year, due to the nature of this collection, we are unable to accept any used items.

A lot of silly fun was had, and £396.00 raised for Oddballs. 🥰

Join us tomorrow for a day of silliness, all in aid of a great cause! 💪

Join us on Sunday 4th October for a day of conkers! 🍁

We will be raising money for the OddBalls Foundation, the leading UK Charity for raising awareness for testicular cancer.

There is a £2 registration fee which gets you entry into the tournament, and a raffle ticket to win an autumn harvest hamper

Conkers can be purchased for £1

We will also be giving a prize for the biggest conker brought in! 🏅

You can pre-register at the bar prior to the competition, sign up will also be available on the day before the competition starts

The main competition is for 12+, but a kids competition will be held alongside on the day
