“What a good fortune getting to know Sunflower!”

I bumped into Sunflower in my Beijing's hostel. She is so nice that invited all the room mates to a Chinese cooking masterclass in a traditional houtong's house. What an experience! Definitively, one of the best things I did during my days in Beijing. We not onlt had the chance of going deep inside the amazing houtongs, but also of talking to Sunflower and learning how to prepare dumplings. To make a long story short, I highly recommend to join Sunflower's tours and cooking classes to any Beijing's visitor.

“Authentic cooking experience with Auntie Xian!”

Sunflower was our tour guide in Beijing and my husband and I love taking cooking classes when we travel, so we asked her to help us plan one, this worked out really well. Auntie Xian and Sunflower were incredibly warm from the beginning of this intimate (6 people max), informative, and really FUN cooking class. You're not in a huge industrial kitchen, but rather are taken down an authentic Chinese hutong (small residential side street) and step right into Auntie Xian's kitchen. We learned how to make dumplings (including dough from scratch!), kung pao chicken, stir fry garlic, and left very FULL. Really well organized, informative, and unique, intimate cooking class experience. Would highly recommend to anyone in Beijing!

Sunflower is a very nice person. And a very good teacher, she speaks good english too. The food was excellent and the place is great. I had a very nice time! Thank you Sunflower, next time when I will stay in Beijing I will visite you again.

“Nice evening, learning how to make dumplings”

I have been in Beijing a lot of times. Three a friend I know Sunflower for some time now.

Earlier this year I was for a short visit in Beijing, and learned that Sunflower was setting up cooking classes. Always fascinated by Chinese cuisine, I asked her if she could learn me how to make dumplings.

So I went with my friend to het place one evening to find out how good my skills are. Her place is in the middle of a hutong and not very big. But cosy.

When I arrived, she already put all the ingredients in place, and start to explain the whole process. Demonstrating what to do. It was very nice to learn the little tricks to prepare dumplings. After a lot of cutting and dough making, I managed to make cooked and fried dumplings. And also garlic broccoli.

After the hard work was done, we opened up the bottle of wine my friend and I brought, and enjoyed the end result.
