Some of the best mornings around Terrace start on the river. Before the first cast, before the sun reaches the water, there's coffee.

Copper Morning is a bright, balanced medium roast with a vibrant character and an easy sweetness that feels right at home in those early hours. Whether you're heading to the river, the trail, or the office, this is the kind of coffee that makes an early start worth it.

The secret to a great homemade mocha? Skip the powders and syrups and melt real chocolate directly into a freshly pulled double shot of espresso.

Ingredients:
• Double shot espresso (about 2 oz) — we like our Whistle Pig Medium Espresso Roast
• 1 oz dark or milk chocolate, finely chopped
• 5–6 oz milk or non-dairy option

How to make it:
1. Pull the hot espresso directly over the chopped chocolate and stir until melted and mixed.
2. Steam the milk.
3. Pour the steamed milk over the chocolate-espresso mix, stirring gently to combine.
4. Finish with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder or chocolate shavings if you're feeling fancy.

What's your go-to: dark chocolate or milk chocolate in a mocha?

Whistle Pig Espresso is vibrant and punchy. As a medium roast, it brings a lively edge to a smooth, sweet foundation, with just enough brightness to keep things moving.

Inspired by the alpine marmots that sun themselves on rocky outcrops and whistle warnings across the mountains, this blend carries that same alert, ready-for-anything energy. It's the coffee that propels early starts, another lap, and the plans that take an extra (wrong) turn and stretch a little further than expected.

Lively without being overpowering, Gripped pairs a smooth, creamy body with balanced sweetness and just enough brightness to keep things interesting. Roasted to a medium level, it's approachable enough for your daily cup while bringing enough character to keep you coming back.

Named for that moment every climber knows, when your mind gets in the way, this blend is a reminder to pause, trust yourself, and make the next move. Whether you're climbing the sun-bleached granite walls around Terrace or working through a challenge a little closer to home, Gripped is your reset before the send.

Need to use up some leftover brewed coffee (as if we ever have leftover coffee)? Try this black bean dip!

Recipe from Food52.com:
130-oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
12 tablespoons of unsalted butter
1white onion, chopped
1jalapeño, seeded and chopped
1 tablespoon minced garlic (about 3 cloves)
1heaping teaspoon vegetable base (I use Better than Bouillon)
1 teaspoon ground cumin
2 teaspoondried Mexican oregano
1 tablespoon sugar
3 dashes of hot sauce, more to taste
1/4 cupbrewed coffee or 1/2 tablespoon instant coffee dissolved in 1/4 cup of hot water

Step 1
In a large skillet, melt the butter on medium heat and sauté the onions until soft and translucent, about 10 minutes. Add the jalapeño, garlic, cumin, oregano, and vegetable base and sauté for a few more minutes. Add the beans and let everything sizzle in the hot butter for a few minutes. Add sugar and hot sauce, and mix everything well.

Step 2
Dump everything in a food processor, add the coffee, and blend until smooth. Adjust for seasoning. Set aside for a couple of hours for the flavours to meld. Dig in with chips or add to burritos, tacos, or quesadillas!

Our Eclipse roast leans fully into darkness. This is a true French roast—deep, rich, and roast-forward, with a full body and very low acidity.

It delivers a strong, steady cup with developed sweetness and a smooth finish that keeps the intensity in check. Bold without being overwhelming, it’s the kind of coffee that will have you questioning whether guests are coming for your company or what’s in the cup.

Brewing: Espresso, stovetop, or French press
