Hello Mayne!

We have a couple closures coming up that we need to let everyone know about.

We'll be closed this Saturday Oct. 3rd to go to Mike and Amber's wedding! 💍❤️💃🕺

And then we'll be closed from Oct. 5th - Oct. 20th, reopening Wednesday Oct. 21st at 5pm for regular service.

The whole family will be travelling to Ontario to visit Grandma & Grandpa for Thanksgiving (and see Great-Grandma!) It's been 9 years since we've been back and it's absolutely overdue, so we really appreciate your understanding while we are closed!

So pop in this week to get your favourite meal, have a date night, or share a glass of w**e with your bestie!

Continuing our journey along the Spice Road,
tonight we'll be serving Mahmoos Gutaifi and Do Piazeh Meygoo.

Mahmoos Gutaifi is a stunning spiced rice and chicken Saudi dish.

Originating from Qatif, a historic coastal city in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, Mahmoos Gutaifi was prepared on a communal scale during the holy days of Ashura in the Islamic month of Muharram. Following the traditional recipes, our Mahmoos Gutaifi is made by slowly and patiently caramelizing a massive amount of onions and adding many traditional Gulf aromatics including cardamom, cinnamo, bay leaves, cloves, and loomi (dried black lime).

Do Piazeh Meygoo is a vibrant, flavourful shrimp and onion stir-fry hailing from the southern coastal regions of Iran.

Do Piazeh Meygoo evolved from a dish originating in Khorasan, which transitioned into Do Piazeh Meygoo when the traditional techniques were adapted to meet the rich marine geography of southern Iranian provinces like Bushehr, Hormozgan, and Khuzestan.

That was a fun little lesson!

These dishes, as well as Kari Ayam (Malaysian Chicken Curry on rice) & Marag Simach (Kuwaiti Fish Stew on rice) & our regular menu will be available for dine-in and take-out this evening!

Hello Mayne!
Well, it is rainy, we've got our lights low and twinkle lights on, and there is no more pretending that summer's still holding on.
Summer was an absolute blast, and we want to thank everyone for their support! We especially want to thank our wonderful staff! Everyone ran their butts off and we wouldn't have gotten through without their hard work and positive attitudes. We have the best team! 😍
Now that summer-busyness is over, Chef Jeff has a lot more space for creativity in the kitchen! In the last two weeks, he has taken us on a culinary journey along the Spice Road, the trade route that began over 4000 years ago, connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe.
He started out in Northern Thailand with Gaeng Hung Ley. Then we went to Myanmar with Wet Thar Hin. We moved on to Southern Thailand with Lamb Massaman, and then the Southwest Coast of India with Mangalore Ghee Roast and Malvani Chicken Hirwa Masala. And now we've travelled south from Thailand into Malaysia, currently serving up Kari Ayam Chicken Curry, and moving west to the Arabian Gulf with Marag Simach, a Kuwaiti Fish Stew.
Who knows where this journey will take him (Jeff does, he has an entire week of specials planned!), but the food being served up right now is not to be missed. Chef Jeff is absolutely killing it in the kitchen!
(A gentle reminder, reservations are highly recommended. We only have 6 tables and the community table.)

Hello Mayne!!

Well, we had an absolutely wonderful trip and are excited to be back to normal hours starting tomorrow at 5pm.

We truly want to thank everyone for their understanding while we took a family vacation. We had an amazing time and really valued the memories we made together.

We look forward to seeing everyone again!!

The Montrose Local will be closed next week, (July 15 - 20th). We're taking our kiddos for a vacation for the boys' 18th birthday!
(18?! How the heck did that happen?!?!)
We'll be back open for our normal hours Wednesday July 22nd.
