Hailing from Diamond Valley, Alberta, Wheels is a folk-rooted, alternative duo that captures the restless spirit of the road, the weight of leaving, and the stories that linger long after the last note fades. Drawing inspiration from artists like Bruce Hornsby, Wilco, John Prine, and Steve Earle, Wheels weaves together intricate instrumentation, heartfelt lyricism, and an undeniable sense of movement. Their latest album, The Wind, is a testament to their ability to balance grit with grace—restless yet reflective, deeply personal yet universal.

This Thursday, May 28th! Join us as we welcome back to the stage!

Born and raised in St. George’s, Newfoundland, Greg’s musical journey began early—he picked up the guitar at nine, and by sixteen was already performing bass and vocals in local cover bands. Greg’s professional career took him west to Saskatchewan and Alberta in the 1990s, where he toured extensively with country bands. 

Over the years, Greg performed on upright and electric bass at festivals, theatres, arenas, and awards shows; playing with artists such as Amos Garrett, Chad Brownlee, Ian Tyson, and Charlie Major.

In 2018, Greg reunited with longtime friends to form Black Mountain Whiskey Rebellion as bassist and co-songwriter. Their self-titled debut album featured the single Holy Smoke, highlighted by Rolling Stone Magazine in July 2018. 

Inspired by writing trips to Nashville, Greg penned several songs honouring First Nations soldiers, including Never Coming Back From Vietnam, which has been remastered for Greg’s latest album entitled ‘Writing on the Wall.’

Beyond the stage, Greg is committed to mentorship and cultural storytelling. He has been a proud adjudicator for the Juno Awards and has served as a virtual instructor and mentor for Inuit and northern First Nations youth through Connected North. Today, while easing back from the rigours of touring, Greg continues to write, perform solo shows, and prepare new music releases. Greg is passionate about giving back to the music community and passing on his knowledge to the next generation.

Our Pulled Rotisserie Chicken Crêpe Omelette is a must-try for your weekend plans. It’s a beautiful mix of savoury mushroom cream, melted smoked Gouda, a fresh herb salad, and a tangy wild blueberry mostarda.

This dish holds a special place in the kitchen—it’s inspired by a recipe Chef Errin’s grandpa used to make. We can’t wait to share the full story behind it in our next video, but for now, you need to taste it for yourself.

This Thursday! A crowd favourite here at The Nash, The Shameful Hussies are a band of rebel rousers serving up outlaw country with a rockabilly edge—and a whole lot of sass. Fronted by Métis and Blackfoot nationale, this powerhouse group of multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriters blends gritty storytelling with high-energy performances. Their sound pays homage to the traditions of their outlaw and rockabilly heroes, spinning tales of heartbreak, revenge, love, loss, and liquor-soaked nights. From tender country duets to fierce, femme-fueled vocals and undeniable stage presence.

Their influences span icons like Miranda Lambert, Johnny Cash, The Pistol Annies, Loretta Lynn, Brandy Clark, Corb Lund, and The Judds, with a little Carlene Carter and Hillbilly Moon Explosion thrown in for good measure.

The Shameful Hussies have lit up stages across Alberta, including festival appearances at Waynestock (Wayne, 2022) and Lie Low in Milo (2024), and have played alongside local favorites like The Lovebullies, The Confusionaires, Tom Phillips and the DTs, Hurricane Felix and the Manik Men, The Promised, Syndicate of Soul, Virago, and Memphis Mafia.
