Well, we went to Marlowe, Fish Lane in Brisbane today, it is part of the Rickshaw and Norté Group of restaurants on the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
One of the most disappointing meals we have had in a long, longtime especially as it is in the same company as the other two on the GC, which are stunning.
We were met by a very friendly helpful member of staff who showed us up stairs. We were early as meeting friends, so we went onto the balcony and sat at a large high table and ordered a couple glasses of wine.i then noticed all the dirty, sticky drink stains on the table, left untouched since the previous night and had to ask to waiter to clean up for us, which he did, but no apology mind you.
We then sat down at our table and the waiter, seriously not very efficient in any way, gave us menus but also said that a couple of the best dishes were off as sold out until Tuesday!
The waiter then went off and maybe forgot us as it was a while before he returned. He stated the Duck Pie was one of the specials, which I ordered, it was seriously awful, tasteless and not sure there was actually any duck involved. We ordered more wine but he forgot my partners Nebbiolo which we had to ask for. To be honest the food overall was just or below average, such a shame as we were really looking forward to the day. The acoustics are also bad as we had to, not shout, but chat very loudly.
To cap the day off, when the bill came they had charged us for three half bottles of the wine instead of 4 glasses, luckily I noticed which saved us $110.
Somebody in that group needs to do something, or close the venue as it is a bad partner to two other lovely restaurants.
Blind Freddy could run a better operation. I am in the business, so not talking without a little knowledge.

The Budget!
So supposedly the smartest people in the Government have spent weeks/months working on the current budget!
They are all reasonably well off, typical bureaucrats, no knowledge of the real world/ Australian financial problems, they are all in a way mini Trumps. Zero knowledge or care of the world around them.
No wonder that One Nation is rising up like a whale on heat. You may not like her, I don’t, but she says what she thinks, very easy in opposition to do so, but when it is all about votes “Oh we can’t do that we will lose heaps of votes even though it is a good idea!)
Stand up Mr Prime minster,say something you actually believe in, f—- the votes! Stupidly enough you might gain votes,surprise surprise
