Meet Jayde - Owner of Stripey Sundae

Hi I’m Jayde, the owner and maker of all things ice cream at Stripey Sundae in Federation Square, Goldcreek.

I bought Stripey Sundae approximately 3 years ago with a dream of owning a cafe one day by the coast (thinking more of a retirement plan). I heard the ice cream shop was for sale on the radio on my way home from a mental health nursing shift and told my husband “I have a crazy idea”. So we ended up taking the plunge and bought it.

We moved into Federation Square last winter from across the road, literally puting our blood, sweat and tears into fitting out our new shop front.

I have always loved making people happy through their tummys and now I’ve made that passion into a successful small, family run and owned business venture. 

We make all of our ice cream from scratch with seasonal ingredients and cater for almost everyone including many gluten and  dairy free varieties which are on a soy, coconut or fruit base. Another point of difference is our hand-made and rolled waffle cones, including a gluten-free option. Seeing people light up with joy as they have more than one option to suit their dietary needs brings a smile to my face and makes all of the hard work worth it!

We have always loved the historical and nostalgic feel of Goldcreek and we believe our hand-made ice cream and old school treats fit right into the Federation Square area and vibe.
