RIP, handhelds. 🪦💀

Today, we honor the fallen. They rang in burgers. They took payments. They printed receipts. They were dropped, bumped, rebooted, threatened, pleaded with, and occasionally called words we cannot repeat on Facebook.

And one by one… they kicked the bucket. 😂

Behold: one of the hidden costs of running a small business that nobody really talks about. These little suckers are not cheap, and apparently restaurant life is hard on them. Who knew?! Brutal. But hey, at least they died doing what they loved.

So if you’ve ever wondered where some of the money goes when you support a small business… sometimes the answer is literally sitting in a pile on the office floor waiting for us to finally admit that no amount of turning it off and back on again is going to save it. 😂

Thank you for your service, little buddies. 🫡
You served us well. May you rest in (dead) peace.

We are trying out a completely new special this week - the Bulgogi Beef wrap! Made, as always, with Marek Land and Livestock beef and deliciously flavored with bulgogi mayo, wrapped up with purple cabbage, sesame-ginger veggies, & purple rice & quinoa!

It’s the final day of Augtober 🎃☀️ and we’re soaking up every last bit of our pretend fall while we can!

Celebrate with a slice of pumpkin cream cheese pie — and really commit to the season by pairing it with a Pumpkin Spice Dirty Soda or Candy Corn Affogato. 🍂🧡

Because apparently Mother Nature has looked at the calendar, realized her mistake, and plans to crank the thermostat back up next week. 🥵😂

Come enjoy the calm before the heat “storm” and send Augtober off properly! 🎃🥧✨

🦁 Let’s make this a thing! 🦁

Reuben and Po’Boy stand sentry outside Northside Diner, ready to welcome customers, passersby, kiddos, pups… pretty much anyone with hands OR paws. ❤️

Recently we shared a photo of sweet Jack with one of our lions, and afterward some of you sent us the most adorable pictures of your own kids, grandkids and pets posing with them. And now we want MORE!

So we’re officially starting a new Northside tradition: get your picture with Reuben and Po’Boy! 📸🦁

No age limit. Two legs or four. Hands or paws. Solo shots, siblings, best friends, whole families, pets… everyone is welcome!

There’s just something about our Meatloaf Sammie. 😍

I love a good meatloaf, so when we were brainstorming the Northside menu, I knew it had to make an appearance. But even better than meatloaf on a plate? A thick slice served warm between two pieces of toasted bread with melted cheese and sauce. And just like that, the Meatloaf Sammie was born!

Turns out you all agree—it’s our second best-selling sandwich, right behind the Smash Burger. And just like our burger, it’s made with all-local beef from Marek Land & Livestock, raised and processed right here in Washington County on their century family farm, with no antibiotics or added hormones. ❤️

Comfort food, local beef, melty cheese, toasted bread… sometimes you really don’t need to overcomplicate things.

Anyone else fully embracing Augtober? 🎃🍂

It may still be August, but some of us are already mentally surrounded by pumpkin spice, apple cider, cinnamon everything, Halloween candy, and all the glorious bounty of fall. So this week’s specials are leaning right into it. 😍

Oh, how the tables have turned. 😂🍎

Usually it’s the students who need an excuse note for being tardy…but after this group of teachers joined us for lunch during a particularly busy (and short-staffed, imagine that!) rush, they found themselves on the receiving end of one!

Their lunch took a touch longer than we would have liked, so their server Amelia took matters into her own hands and provided the necessary documentation:

“To whom it may concern, lunch ran long. Please excuse everyone from work.”
—Amelia, your humble waitress 😂

We’re not entirely sure how much authority a Northside server has in these matters, but it looks pretty official to us. 🤷‍♀️

A big thank you to these wonderful teachers for being so patient and good-humored with us. We hope the note worked—and that no one had to stay after school! 😉❤️
