At Commonwealth Brewing Company, we believe that beer should be adventurous, diverse, extremely drinkable, and sometimes wild. We uphold rustic farmhouse traditions, huge hop American styles, and the complex depths of wild fermentations. Located in the newly renovated, former Chesapeake Beach Fire & Rescue station in Virginia Beach, we’re proud to continue the tradition as a local gathering place. 🇳🇿⚡️ SPOTLIGHT: NEW ZEALAND HOPS ⚡️🇳🇿

We’re stoked to welcome the newest addition to our DIPA lineup. Southern Energy is a full-on Kiwi hop showcase, featuring 100% Freestyle Hops from New Zealand and a dream-team pairing of Peacharine and Nectaron.

This one absolutely hops off the glass with waves of peach candy, fresh nectarine, and bright citrus before rolling into layers of lime zest, stone fruit, mango, and guava. Built on a rich malt bill, Southern Energy pours a hazy pale yellow and delivers a velvety mouthfeel that lets these Southern Hemisphere flavors shine from start to finish.

Every great brewery has legends behind it, and ours just happen to be dads. Meet Jeramy, Geo, & Mike! You know them as the dads who get it all done in Virginia Beach. And in Fairfax, meet bartender Nate & head chef Tony! This Father’s Day, we’re raising a pint to the dads who help make Commonwealth what it is every day. Their Dad Lore runs deep:
🍻 Geo worked his way up from bartender to Head Brewer, proving that every great origin story starts somewhere.
🌯 Mike is the mastermind behind some of our favorite food specials, including the legendary Paddy O’Chan’s Corned Beef Eggrolls and the unforgettable Marvolo Sauce.
🍸 In addition to slinging beers & cocktails, Nate is a sports fanatic and loves hanging out with his family.

Josephine has returned just in time for pool days, patio hangs, and everything summer. Our beloved Hefeweizen is bursting with bright fruit character, led by a huge banana nose from our hefe yeast and layered with subtle clove notes. Mandarina Bavaria hops in to bring waves of tangerine and citrus aroma, creating a refreshing, fruit-forward beer that’s perfect for the hot days ahead. 🍊🍌
