So I’ll address something I briefly saw in a comment/share on our post about our special for Monday before it disappeared—something along the lines of, “You obviously don’t know the meaning of Memorial Day.”

We absolutely do.

Memorial Day is about honoring and remembering the men and women who gave their lives serving our country. But for many veterans still with us, this day is also deeply personal—it’s a time to remember brothers, sisters, friends, and family they served alongside and lost.

So if someone chooses to enjoy a small token of gratitude, a meal, or a moment of fellowship while remembering those sacrifices, that does not diminish the meaning of the day.

Let us honor our way- it’s not much but it’s something.

Owning a restaurant is not easy. People always say, “It’s just Victoria,” but honestly, it’s everywhere. There were times in those first five years I wanted to throw in the towel — seriously, no joke. 😂 But over time, I’ve learned to manage with what you have and make it work.

This year has probably been the hardest one yet because of the stroke, but I’m trying. I’m usually not one to complain, but lately I’ve left there crying more than once. I don’t show it, but physically I’ve been struggling, and it’s one of the worst feelings to feel useless at times.

But I’m beyond grateful for Anthony and Sharon for sticking through it all. And Sharon — she may not be 21 anymore, but she still works like it! Lol. The younger generation could definitely learn a thing or two from both of them.

Without those two, without our staff, and most importantly without you — our customers — these last 7 years would not have been possible.

Sure, our food may not be the best in town, but we truly do our best every single day with what we have, and we’re grateful for everyone who continues to support us.

Thank you, Victoria, for 7 years.
