Had breakfast at Golden's this morning and it got me thinking about the early days of Rooster’s.

When I first got the space, I had no idea what I was going to do with it. Once I decided on smash burgers, I started going around trying different places for inspiration. That’s how I found Golden’s.

Jeff runs the entire place by himself. No employees. Watching him do it made me crazy enough to think I could do the same. I even started using Salvatore’s Bakery buns because Jeff used them and I loved them.

About six months into running Rooster’s by myself, I realized I needed help—and gained a whole new appreciation for what Jeff does every day.

I’m not sure I ever told him before today, but Golden’s definitely played a part in the beginning of Rooster’s.

If you haven’t been, go. everything to my knowledge is made from scratch, and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
