Last month, Hotel State College and The Corner Room hosted Corner Fest, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Corner Room. This Alpha picnic-inspired block party was not only a great time for the community, but raised funds for the Alpha Fire Company.

Last night, Jake Nyman, director of operations at Hotel State College, presented your Alphas with a check for $1,500.

We are incredibly grateful to Hotel State College, The Corner Room, and everyone who attended Corner Fest for thinking of and supporting your Alpha Volunteers. Community events like this highlight the strong partnership between our fire company and the people we are proud to serve. We had a great time meeting everyone and thank you for your generosity and support!

100 years ago today, Jack’s Roadhouse became The Corner Room.

Not a rebrand. Not a relaunch. Just a name finally catching up to what this place already was — the spot where State College stopped through, enjoyed meals and conversations, and made meeting at The Corner an iconic tradition.

A century later, what hasn’t changed is the feeling of walking in and being known. That doesn’t happen overnight. That’s every owner, every server, every regular who kept choosing this Corner, year after year, for a hundred years.

To everyone who built it, worked it, and never let it go quiet — THANK YOU.

Here’s to the next hundred. 🥂
