Our Summer Special has arrived!

The Summer Burger Special has arrived!

We try to have each specials theme match the corresponding season.

This summer we decided a corn salsa themed burger may work, and after a few experiments and tests with other ideas, the Corn Supremacy was chosen. Apparently we really like the play on movies for names of our specials. (What's next; the 3 Stew-ges for Fall?)

A little history of corn salsa:
Corn salsa is a relatively modern recipe rooted in ancient Mesoamerican traditions. Many years ago, cultures like the Aztecs and Mayans domesticated corn, frequently combining it with native chiles and tomatoes to create foundational relishes. Over generations, this evolved alongside Mexican street food traditions like esquites—off-the-cob corn tossed with lime, chili, and cilantro—which laid the groundwork for the sweet, smoky, and scoopable flavor profile we enjoy today.

The condiment achieved widespread mainstream popularity during the American salsa boom of the 1980s and 1990s. As Tex-Mex dining exploded, salsa officially surpassed ketchup as America's top-selling condiment by 1992-which blows our mind. This era of culinary experimentation encouraged chefs to move beyond traditional red tomato bases, introducing ingredients like black beans, mango, and corn to add vibrant texture and color to fresh table dips.

Today this rich history comes alive at the 7th on Walnut; in downtown Springfield, Missouri! The incredible balance of sweet crispy corn, bright citrus, creamy sour cream and crunchy tortilla strips makes it the perfect star topping for a Summer themed special!

Summer hours update:

To fight the extreme heat this summer we will be closing from 4pm-6pm every day (except Saturdays: Saturdays will remain unchanged (open on Saturdays from Noon until 2 am Sunday morning)).

During these Summer Hours we will extend our open time till 10pm!

We hope this will help fight the extreme heat our kitchen and lobby get during hot days.
