Without further ado, our Space Girl has landed!
Brit Carmany's mural went on the wall yesterday, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
When we opened this project up to local artists, we had no idea how far it would go. It turned into the biggest thing we've ever posted. Artists from all over sent in their work, and so many of you voted, shared, and told your friends to do the same. Thank you for making it such a fun ride.
Brit teaches art at Jefferson High. Her astronaut girl with the big rosy cheeks felt like Pizza Cheeks the first time we saw it, and it looks even better on the wall. Congrats, Brit, and thank you for trusting us with your work.
To every artist who entered: thank you. Putting your work up for a public vote is not easy, and we truly loved seeing every piece that came in.
A big thank you to our landlord, Brenkevco, too. They repainted the building, patched it up, added the new lights, and gave us the freedom to put art on their wall. This doesn't happen without them.
And to everyone who voted and shared, this one is yours too. Come see it at 1716 S. Minnesota Ave. Swing by after dark if you can, because the lights really make it glow. Snap a pic with her while you're here and tag us. We'd love to see them!
For everyone else, your drive south on Minnesota Ave just got a little more beautiful.
Cheers,
Pizza Cheeks
