Do you know how many times I get asked why the burgers here taste better? So many times… so.many.times.

It’s because when I say I am getting it freshly ground locally… I am. When I say I am making sure I am not selling you meat with fillers or poisons our bodies shouldn’t be ingesting… I am. When I say I make sure your burger is never frozen.. it has never been frozen.

I get the grind I like every single time. When I am out, I am out. I am not buying a few pounds locally and then hiding a Walmart product behind the shallow support of a small business and an ideal. This is not a scheme to sell more… I am passionate about feeding people and I am a little “meat” obsessed. lol 😂

If I tell you it’s a half pound, it is…

I am not making them smaller and using crafty language to skimp on the size. You are getting the product that I am claiming to sell.

I am a carnivore. 95% of what I consume is meat and eggs, and if places like Maeker's Sausage & Processing and Patek Grocery & Market are where I go to nourish my temple… I assure you, I will continue to provide that kind of care and quality control I desire for myself.. for you and your family as long as I am in business here.

Corners will not be cut. Substitutions will not be made that are good for a dollar and bad for the soul.

These two businesses have already given me more support than I could have hoped for and excel in service well beyond what the standard is. Top notch in my opinion, and if you aren’t shopping there, you should be. I have gotten deliveries, offers of opening the store after hours when I was basically at the end of my rope because I kept running out and selling out, special ordered product… and a sincere desire to see my business succeed. Customer service has been stellar to say the least at both of these locations.

Sometimes we become infatuated with a place and then shortly after inhabiting it, we forget why we moved there in the first place and try to start bringing the “comforts” of where we had come from not taking into account the cost of such comforts.

As a Shiner transplant, I have to say that I have no intentions of changing what you have going on here in this little town… I just hope to enhance it.

Someone told me that after having one of my burgers, he remembered what it was like eating a good burger as a child and the great memories that came with that. He remembered he loved them. And that is why I do what I do.

That’s pretty amazing!! Next week we will be doing one more meals with a meaning for the Pilot club.

Closed for lunch today to get organized to reopen for dinner and the rest of the week. Having two days off did a number on my prep, or lack there of.

See you guys at 6pm and then tomorrow we have lasagna at 5pm for the Pilot club!
